Dr Mukesh Batra, recipient of the Padmashri in 2012 a homeopath of international repute with nearly 50 years of medical practice has worked relentlessly for a Bimari Mukt Bharat. Towards this vision he runs over 175 free clinics across 133 cities in India. He is setting up technology-based homeopathy clinics with the government of Uttar Pradesh to bring high quality free homeopathic treatment to patients in Lucknow, Kanpur, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur. These will later be rolled out in other cities. Realizing the power of Brand India, Dr. Batra has taken Indian Homeopathy to 7 countries including, U.K., Greece, Astonia, U.A.E., Mauritius, Bahrain and Bangladesh by providing job opportunities in foreign countries to Indian homeopaths. Being a strong proponent of Digital India, Dr Batra was amongst the first in the world to create electronic medical case histories in 1982. In 1997, he set up one of the world’s first medical cyber clinics, where patients could get medical advice online, treating over 4.75 lac patients in a year which got him mention of a world record in the Limca books. Being a strong believer in setting processes, systems and medical protocols, he has tirelessly standardized methods to achieve better treatment outcomes. Dr. Batra has merged the latest technology with homeopathy successfully using the latest innovations in treatments such as medical facials for skin problems and non-invasive hair treatments with over 90% results. As a passionate academician, Dr Batra initiated a public-private partnership with Maharashtra University of Health Sciences with a fellowship course in Homeopathic Dermatology and Oncology, at Dr Batra’s® Academy. At the age of 60, he completed Harvard University’s medical excellence course and incorporated these learnings in the science of homeopathy. He has also built training content of over 100 hours for an e-learning platform to train young homeopaths. His teachings have been recognised by granting him Honorary Fellowships at Homeopathy colleges in California, USA and London, UK. He is also a Patron of the Trichology Society U.K., one of the world’s oldest hair specialist institutions. To inspire excellence in homeopathy, he introduced the Dr. Mukesh Batra scholarships to deserving and underprivileged students of the top 10 homeopathy colleges in India. A strong believer in integrated medicine Dr Batra was instrumental in integrating homeopathy with mainstream medicine by opening homeopathic divisions in a multi-specialty hospital in Bahrain, a pediatric orthodontic clinic in Dubai, a bariatric surgical clinic in Mumbai and a fertility clinic in Greece. Dr Batra has been a brand ambassador for homeopathy and Brand India. He wrote regular columns on homeopathy in leading national and international publications, which helped popularize and advocate Homeopathy. He has authored ten books on Homeopathy that have been best sellers including number one on Amazon. In 2018, he introduced a social media series, Good Health and Homeopathy that touched over 25 million lives. Dr. Batra’s Positive Health show on Zee TV ran unbroken for 3.5 years and he also conducted homeopathy talk shows on Doordarshan. In his effort to educate people on homeopathy internationally, Dr. Batra conducted radio shows on multiple networks including BBC, wrote columns in magazines on Homeopathy and had live dial-in TV shows with Zee TV International all over Europe. In 2020, he was honored for his outstanding service in the field of Homeopathy internationally at the Sheikh Zayed International Awards, under the patronage of the Ruler and Founder of the UAE. Recently, ‘Heal in India’, recognized him among the top 75 healthcare specialists since independence. Dr. Batra has been nominated as jury member for the prestigious 40 under 40 and the Exchange4Media Awards. He served as a member of the advisory committee of the censor board. Dr. Batra was a member of the Governing Body of the Central Council for Research in Homeopathy, nominated by the Ministry of Health and a Member of the Governing Body of the National Institute of Homeopathy, Kolkata. Among his many charity initiatives, he provided free preventive medication for epidemics including Bird Flu, Swine Flu and Chikungunya. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he distributed over 1 crore prophylactic homeopathy doses, including free of cost to the Maharashtra Police Personnel. As President of the Rotary Club of Bombay 2017, Dr. Batra raised over USD 1.1 million which has tripled and come back to benefit lives in rural India. He provided the latest endoscopic equipment to the GB Pant Pediatric Hospital in Srinagar. He provided clean drinking water to the slums in Mumbai and villages in Maharashtra. Towards the government’s ‘Heal in India’ mission, Dr Batra was part of a white paper on Medical Value Tourism, presented by CII of which he is the Co-Chair, AYUSH (Homeopathy). He addressed the National Conference of Travel Agents emphasizing the potential of alternative medicine in India.
