Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, a visionary in nanoscience and nanotechnology, has made remarkable interdisciplinary contributions throughout his career. From 2015-2021, he held the prestigious role of Secretary, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Since 2006, he has been the Institute Chair Professor and Founding Coordinator of the DST Thematic Unit of Excellence on Soft Nanofabrication at IIT Kanpur, where he also chairs the Center for Environmental Science and Engineering. His pioneering work earned him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar award. In 2022, Prof. Sharma was elected President of the Indian National Science Academy.
