Mr. Rama Mohan Rao Amara is currently Managing Director in State Bank of India (SBI) from 18 Dec 2024 and is responsible for international banking, Global Markets and Technology. Before this assignment he served as Group Chief Risk Officer in the bank. He also served as MD & CEO of SBI Card, a pureplay credit card company, for two and half years, where he steered the company successfully and improved the financial and risk profile of the company. He amassed international experience while handling key assignments for SBI in international markets like, Singapore and US. During his stint as CEO at SBI (California), he turned it around and made the operations profitable. He has been a part of SBI, India’s oldest and largest banking group, for more than three decades and handled several key assignments both in India and aboard.
