G. Ram Mohan Rao, Executive Director, SEBI is academically an Engineer and Management graduate from Osmania University, Hyderabad. His experience in the capital market revolved around enforcement activities like Market Surveillance, investigation, Inspection, Prosecution etc. His early rich experience during 1998-2003 into market manipulation by Harshad Mehta, Ketan Parekh, short sellers, insider trading, etc. made him take deep dive to investigations at SFIO. His experience includes cross border transaction investigations like GDR matters, front running, handling default matters like Karvy, etc. He developed expertise through vertical integration in various roles as an officer, supervisor, employee association & Sports activities coupled with management of Eastern regional office, etc., transformed him from hard core investigator to current leadership.  He believes equally in awakening the stakeholders in containing market abuses and punishing the fraudsters. He has sacrificed his social life for the role and responsibilities at SEBI.   

He manages his stress through physical fitness like participating in more than 30 half marathons, 13 full marathons, 12 hr run, 100 km trail walk for 4 times.
