Dr. Visala.A serves as the Joint Drugs Controller at the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), the National regulatory body under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
- With a PhD in pharmacy, Dr. Visala plays a Vital role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of pharmaceuticals . She successfully completed the WHO-PQ Rotational fellowship in the assessment of Pharmaceuticals at WHO-Geneva
- In her current role at CDSCO, Dr. Visala focuses on critical areas such as the regulation of recombinant products, investigational new drugs, and cellular & gene therapy products & assists the Drug Controller India (DCI) in the enforcement of the Drugs &Cosmetics Act
- Prior to this, she held significant responsibilities such as global clinical trials, serious adverse events & compensation, and ethics committee registration, enforcement divisions of CDSCO.
Dr. Visala’s dedication and expertise have been recognized through various accolades, including the prestigious Best Drugs Inspector award and the inaugural Neha Shoree Award for Excellence in Drug Regulation. With a proven track record of regulatory excellence, she continues to drive forward the standards for Medical products.
