Mukta is a senior HR professional with diversified experience in all business aspects of human resources including Learning & Development, Talent Management, Total Rewards, Employee Engagement and Talent Acquisition across Retail, IT/ITES, Banking and Financial Services Sectors.

She is thought leader and has managed high impact and strategic change management initiatives in large global organizations involving cross-functional teams in a multi-cultural and matrixed environment. She has successfully led initiatives focused on supporting business transformation, driving cultural change, setting up growth and de-growth framework, strengthening people leader effectiveness, building leadership pipeline, organization design and enhancing employee engagement. Mukta has also been in global roles, leading talent agenda in Asia Pacific and supported business across locations including US, Australia, Japan, Singapore etc.

Recognized as one of India’s Top 101 HR Minds by the World HR Congress, Mukta currently leads the Human Resources & Sustainability at Marks and Spencer Reliance India Pvt. Ltd. As a member of the Leadership Team, her focus is on ensuring that Human Capital serves as a key driver in enabling business success. Prior to joining M&S, Mukta has worked with a range of diverse organizations, including John Wiley & Sons, American Express, Walmart India, ABN Amro Bank, and HP.

Mukta is passionate about Diversity and Inclusion and has spearheaded critical initiatives in the field across organizations. From launching the first ever ‘Women in Retail’ program to promote gender diversity across stores in Walmart India, to leading ‘Reach Out’ a unique development program for senior women leaders at AmEx in partnership with five best-in-class organizations – Pepsico, PwC, Microsoft, Tata Group and Reckitt Benckiser. She has also been instrumental in the launch of Pride Chapter at AmEx.

Mukta holds dual masters qualification with M.A. in Economics (honors) and PGDM in International Business and believes that learning is a continuous journey. A certified ‘Hogan’ coach, has also earned certificate in ‘Process and Partnership Excellence’ from Harvard Business School and ‘Business Essentials for HR’ from Cornell University. She propagates ‘Healthy Living’ and enjoys spending her time working out, reading and travelling. She lives in Gurgaon with her husband and nine-year old son.
