Shweta Mohanty is the Vice-President and Head of Human Resources for SAP in India. With 24 years of rich experience in leading and managing business & talent transformations in complex and matrix business environments at a global scale. She currently spearheads the People function for all SAP entities across India, including R&D, sales, and services organizations.

She has introduced groundbreaking initiatives like Project Yellow Circle, revolutionizing mental wellness at SAP by prioritizing employee mental health and destigmatizing related discussions. Her passion for skilling and commitment to lifelong learning has been translated to programs such as ELIXIR for upskilling people leaders on thought leadership and technical expertise, and AI Developer Foundation Program that aims to upskill all tech community at SAP in India with an AI mindset. Shweta is passionate to infuse technology and innovation to HR, introducing practices such as Metaverse Onboarding and digital access to benefits via Employee Navigator app. Shweta’s innovative touch extends to fostering transparent dialogue – she introduced People Unplugged conversations, a global practice now, fostering open and honest exchanges between HR and employees. SAP India’s Hybrid work model was recognized in a Harvard Business Review case study in 2024.

During her tenure, SAP in India won the coveted Top Employer certification for 8 consecutive times, Fortune Employers of the Future Awards, ET Best Workplace for Women, and India Workplace Equality Index Gold certification for LGBTQ+ workplace in India. Shweta has recently been conferred the Top 50 HR Thought Leaders in 2024 in India by Economic Times & BusinessWorld People’s Most Influential Women for 2024 & 2025. In August 2024, she was conferred the “Woman HR Leader of the Year 2024” by Business World BW People.

Previously, Shweta has served as Global HR roles in SAP implementing inclusive initiatives such as Entrepreneurial Sabbatical and Teach Hub to name a few. Being a passionate advocate for D&I, she also conceptualized the Girls Power Tech program to upskill women talents in rural parts of India and China.

Prior to joining SAP, Shweta excelled in client-facing roles at Microsoft and Wipro, driving talent transformations in complex business environments.

A certified PROSCI Change practitioner, her real value-add is to influence business & people decisions with a sense of empathy and purpose. She takes pride in having a keen sense of listening and understanding voices on the ground, coupled with strong analytical skills. She takes interest to contribute and learn on power of Human Capital, Digital transformation & Future of work.
