Astrophysics,\u00a0Bangalore.\u00a0She was awarded Rashtriya Vigyan Puraskar, Vigyan Shri in 2024, for space science and technology.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She has about three decades of research experience and has published about 200\u00a0research publications in topics such as, star clusters, stellar populations, galaxies, and ultra-violet astronomy.\u00a0She has trained\u00a0a\u00a0large number of\u00a0students\u00a0for\u00a0projects\u00a0and she has guided\u00a015\u00a0students for PhD\u00a0and several collaborated with her for thesis work.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She was the Chief Editor of the Journal of Astrophysics and Astronomy, jointly published by the Indian Academy of Sciences and Astronomical Society of India during 2019-2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">She is\u00a0a scientific Editor of Research in Astronomy and Astrophysics, published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">She heads the membership committee of the International Astronomical Union.<\/span><span
