Dipali Goenka is the CEO and MD of Welspun India Limited (WIL), one of country’s largest home textiles exporter.
Her focus on integrating Sustainability in the business processes has made the company one of the Sustainability leaders in the textile industry. The company scored an overall score of 59 received an overall score of 59 which is a significant improvement of 23% over last year’s score of 48. Under her leadership, Welspun India’s Sustainability Case Study’ is now a part of curriculum across global Universities. She has taken path breaking initiatives in the areas of Energy transition, circularity, women empowerment & governance.
With her innovative ideas, Dipali revolutionized the Indian textile industry that was previously dominated by men. Her creative suggestions for utilizing innovation and digitization to change conventional manufacturing processes have been highly accepted at the World Economic Forum (Davos) for a number of years. With a strong belief of how educating women has a direct impact on the upliftment of the community, Dipali has been transforming lives and continues to dedicate efforts to this aspect. To Dipali’s credit, Welspun’s workforce now comprises of close to 30% women, stellar growth from a mere 7%, just a decade ago.
Dipali has been a pioneer in her progressive and reforming approach. By successfully growing internationally recognized brands like Christy and Martha, her domestic brand, Spaces also thrived marvelously. She has been recently conferred as the Most Powerful Women in Business by Business Today and Most Influential Women in India by Business World in 2022 and 23. She has been also recognized as 16th Most Powerful Woman in Asia and 4th in India by Forbes in 2016.
Dipali Goenka is an alumna of Harvard University and majored in OPM Psychology.
