Dr. Abhishek Jain is an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of 2002 batch, presently posted as Secretary (Finance, Planning, Public Works, Economics & Statistics), Government of Himachal Pradesh. He has 23 years experience in senior government positions, including Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India; Secretary Home, Education, IT, Labour & Employment in Govt. of HP; District Collector Kullu, Hamirpur and Una etc. He holds a PhD (Development Economics), Master in International Dev. Policy (Duke, USA), Fellow Company Secretary, Advanced Management Programme in Public Policy (Indian School of Business), Masters in Economics. He has authored India’s first ‘Handbook on Census’ and around fifty papers on governance and development issues with field evidence as an IAS officer. Abhishek is also a three times World Champion in Speed Typing and Computers, and 12 times National Typing Champion in English, Hindi and Punjabi typing. Conferred with Punjab Rattan, Digital India and Himachal Shree Awards, Abhishek featured in Time magazine (1996). He holds a Limca Book of World Record for being the world’s youngest and fastest world typing champion. Abhishek has spoken at top academic institutions including Harvard, Duke, ISB, IIT etc.
