Paula Mariwala is a pioneering figure in India’s early-stage startup ecosystem since 2006. She is the Founding Partner of Aureolis Ventures, an early-stage venture fund focused on investing in bold and innovative companies which create impact. She is the Founder/President of Stanford Angels & Entrepreneurs India and was Managing Director of Seedfund, one of India’s first venture funds. As Promoter Director of the Hinditron Group, Paula has a deep experience in technology and innovation.

Her pathbreaking career also spans education, science, the arts and social impact, through roles at KREA University, Somaiya College of Engineering, and advisory boards of several incubators and industry bodies like IMC, TiE, and CII.

Internationally, she sits on the board of Stanford SEED, which partners with entrepreneurs in emerging markets to build thriving enterprises that transform lives, advises Stanford’s Centre for Human Rights, and serves on philanthropic boards such as Team4Tech, The Gender Lab, Katalyst India, Maker Bhavan Foundation and Eidelgive Foundation. She supports initiatives like the UN Women Entrepreneurship Network and Asia Society India. Paula’s diverse and impactful work has been recognised in media like Mint and Economic Times.

Paula is frequently listed among India’s top women VCs and angel investors. She holds a Master’s in Applied Physics from Stanford University and a B.Sc. (Hons) from St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai. She lives in Mumbai, enjoying painting, poetry, and nature in her personal time.
