Dushyant K. Tyagi, a postgraduate in Agriculture from the esteemed GB Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar, brings over three decades of extensive experience in the Food and Agri-Business sector. His expertise spans the entire value chain, including Agri Inputs, Post-Harvest Management, Marketing, Fresh Food Retail, Food Processing, Start-up Mentoring, and Technology-Enabled Services across diverse geographies and cultural landscapes. 

Recognized as a prominent figure in India’s agriculture sector, Dushyant is celebrated as a distinguished domain expert, speaker, and a pioneer in driving digital transformation in agricultural markets across the country. 

He is credited with spearheading the transformative National Agriculture Market (e-NAM), one of the flagship programs of the country and a PMO project, as strategic & implementation partner for more than nine years. e-NAM is the world’s largest Electronic Spot Agri Trading Platform with around USD 50 billion turn over, 120 million MT plus trade volume with a user base of more than 18 million farmers, 4362 FPO’s and 377K buyers as of now. The platform is implemented in 1410 digitized and electronically integrated Agri Produce Markets (APMC’s) across 23 states & 4 UTs in India. The platform facilitates real time electronic trading of more than 221 Agri commodities across the country. He is also credited with creating and leading India’s only Agri Trading Platform – eFarmarket that connects farmers directly from the farm to buyers across country for the Govt of Andhra Pradesh. 

Having started his career with the input side of value chain Dushyant worked with the well-known plant nutrition major Chambal Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd, for more than a decade. Invested the second decade of his professional career in understanding the retail & processing side of value chain while working with leading food retail companies like Reliance Retail, Aditya Birla Retail and Mother Dairy Fruit & Vegetables Pvt Ltd. Further for more than ten years Dushyant has remained associated with Nagarjuna Fertilizers and Chemicals Ltd. in various roles ranging from National Sales & Marketing Head, SBU Head and Business Head-Technology Division. 

Presently, he is heading Farmgate Technologies Pvt Ltd a subsidiary of leading plant nutrition major Fertis India Pvt Ltd. Apart from mentoring the e-NAM he is playing a pivotal role in nurturing agri tech startups in India with focus on specialized areas such as AI Image Analytics, Machine Learning, Genomics, Climate Tech. 

Dushyant envisions the future of agriculture at the intersection of biological sciences and engineering. He believes that ‘algorithms and genomics’ will drive the future of food and agriculture. His vision includes building a robust agritech startup ecosystem focused on cutting-edge technologies such as gene editing, microbial synthesis, synthetic biology, IoT, and AI-driven resource optimization. 

By driving technology-led disruptions in agri-fintech, supply chain management, and food distribution, he aims to address global challenges viz. climate change, resource constraints, and sustainability. Through innovation and early-stage investments, he seeks to redefine the agricultural landscape, making it more efficient, resilient, and future-ready. 

Dushyant is the National Convenor of the ‘India Digital Agriculture Council’ of Indian Council of Food and Agriculture (ICFA); Co-chairs the National Council for Agriculture, Assocham; Member of the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry; Member of the empaneled jury for the Startup India challenge. He has been a regular invitee by various industry forums and institutions like PHD Chambers, CII, FICCI, FAI, NIYAM, MANAGE, NIAM, IIM’s and ISB as a guest speaker and panelist for various events. 

He has been a recipient of Gems of Digital India 2018; recipient of Platinum Award under Digital India Awards 2022 for ‘e-NAM’; recipient of Leadership Award for Digital Transformation in Agriculture, AgriNext Conference 2024; recipient of The Shriram Awards by Fertilizer Association of India (FAI) for best paper presentation of the year 2022-23 & 2023-24.
