Dr. Sachin Shigwan, fondly known as The Solar Man of India, is a pioneering social entrepreneur and the Founder & Director of Green India Initiative Pvt. Ltd. With a vision to transform rural India through sustainable energy, he has electrified over 1000 villages till August 2025, impacting the lives of more than one lakh fifty thousand beneficiaries across the nation. His exemplary efforts have earned him prestigious recognition from the World Book of Records, London, along with several other national and international accolades.
Dr. Shigwan’s journey began more than a decade ago, fuelled by a deep commitment to environmental sustainability and social equity. Through Green India Initiative, he has introduced innovative solar-powered solutions such as home-lighting systems, micro-grids, solar water pumps, and electrified healthcare facilities and schools, enabling rural communities to access reliable, clean, and affordable energy. His ambitious mission aims to electrify 10,000 villages by 2035, a testament to his determination to bridge the rural-urban energy divide.
