Climate Action Awards 2024 are the global leading awards celebrating leadership in sustainable business that are truly having an impact on business, society, and the environment. It is about acknowledging excellent sustainability strategies in business that are delivering a new blueprint for business in coming days. The awards showcase a wide range of inspiring, innovative and creative approaches to delivering a better world through businesses today as well as promise for the future.
Awards are the way of recognition and celebration, but also, they show how our society can with good leadership be lead through the post pandemic recovery into a new and more sustainable path. The issues have not stood still, and neither have the solutions, but it is important that these ideas are seen and adopted.
Through this award we are looking for the best in every category, from startups to brands, from individual to companies, from tools to innovation, ensuring that all are covered as they are important to build a cleaner and greener world.

Honouring organizations/individuals demonstrating excellence in putting nature and decarbonisation at the heart of their business. This category comprises of projects related to decarbonization, operations transformation, climate action targets, circular economy transition, biodiversity, supply chain, sustainable agriculture, water security, waste management, food security, sustainable infrastructure, and natural resource management.
Submission
- Clear examples of inspiring decisions the company has taken to reach climate action.
- Metrics and data that showcase how the business is on track to hit its climate action target, consistent with the global 1.5 Degrees.
- Community based climate action

[2] Responsible Business transformation award
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring organizations like corporates, NGOs, and startups demonstrating excellence in business transformation that can enable a climate resilient future.
This category celebrates the transformative efforts of the companies in innovative products, services, practices and adapting to mitigate the adverse effect of climate change. These companies are those targeting to achieve the ESG mandate and Net Zero goals. This category aims to recognise the industry stalwarts that are driving transformational efforts in climate excellence in themes such as (but not limited to) climate neutrality / reduction in GHG emissions, climate change adaptation and/ or resource efficiency.

[3] Product Innovation award
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring organizations and startups demonstrating excellence in innovative products and services that can enable a climate resilient future. The award will go to a company that has developed an innovative product offering that is helping address a critical social or environmental challenge. This product or service is part of the core business model or strategy.

- Real positive impact from new product offering
- How the product or service is both designed and delivered
- Impact created and value generated
- At least 3–5-year timescale
[4] Sustainability trailblazer Honouree award
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring individuals who are the global leaders and supporting new ideas and actions which challenge the status quo within their business and industry. This accolade will go to an outstanding business leader that has demonstrated, inspiring, motivational, and passionate leadership to their team, company or sector, and has a clear commitment to long-term impacts.
The award goes to an individual dedicated their career to delivering change and has a track record of success. The Honouree has been and continues to be catalyst for change within the industry. The winner will have been a catalyst for real, proven change and a widely recognised positive social or environmental impact, preferably beyond the boundaries of one industry.

[5] Responsible Investor of the year
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring investment institution that has fully integrated ESG into the governance, strategy, philosophy, and investment processes of all asset classes.

- Data, disclosures and evidence that supports this transformative approach to investment across the whole organisation.
- Evidence of supporting governance that aligns these changes with the Paris Agreement and the SDGs
[6] Net Zero leadership award
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring companies that can demonstrate a tangible transition toward a 1.5-Degree goal, through a publicly communicated net zero commitment.

- Data, disclosures and investments
- Baseline year and demonstratable progress-to-date to meet the goals
- 2-to-5-year timescale, but activity during 2023-2024 must be demonstrated
[7] Biodiversity Champions award
Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum
Honouring companies that are putting the planet and nature at the heart of their business strategy.
Submission
- Regenerative approach to nature runs throughout the business
- Identifiable metrics as to how this approach will benefit the business
- 2-to-5-year timescale, but activity during 2023-2024 must be demonstrated
[8] Jury’s choice award
The Jury choice award honours organizations selected by the jury for their outstanding performance and influence in the SDG and ESG domain. This category highlights innovation, impact, and leadership as key criteria for recognition.

Across the 8 award categories, we will be celebrating the leaders across 4 levels – who are transforming to tackle the climate crisis and ensure an inclusive future for all. We plan to select awardees under the categories as below:

Jury
The awards are jury based. There will be panel of 5-6 jury members from the Times Group along with senior experts from the industry.
Selection Criteria
The selection process is strictly based on the uniqueness of the project in the category. They are open to any relevant organization or individual based in India. All the individuals across industries are eligible.
Considering each category specifically, following key parameters will be taken care of when deciding the awardees:
Awards will be granted to units, who make significant and measurable contribution towards development or use of cleaner technologies, processes, or practices for environmental protection.

Strategy – 25%
Evaluation of the strategic approach employed, assessing the clarity, coherence, and alignment with organizational goals.
Element of innovation – 25%
Recognition of innovative practices or approaches implemented within the supply chain, demonstrating creativity and forward-thinking.
Execution – 25%
Assessment of the effectiveness and efficiency of execution, including the implementation of strategies and initiatives.
Results – 25%
Review of the tangible outcomes achieved, such as improvements in efficiency, cost savings, or enhanced performance metrics.
These criteria collectively provide a comprehensive framework for evaluating supply chain excellence and identifying standout achievements.
Methodology
1. The announcement of the opening of the nominations for the awards under the 8 categories.
a. The window to submit your nomination will be 60 days.
2. Shortlisting of the nominations
a. Jury will shortlist the top 10 runner ups in each category.
3. These runner ups will be asked to submit couple of more details about the nomination if required.
4. Announcement of the awardees
a. After second round of submissions, the final 4 awardees in each category will be announced.
5. Award Function
a. The organisers will host the award function separately for all the winners during the SDG summit as planned in October.
