Salil heads the Fevicol India Division. Prior to this he was the Chief Business officer for the Emerging India Division, where he was responsible for driving growth across all Pidilite Consumer and Bazaar businesses in the small towns below 2 lakh population and the Rural Markets.
Salil has been with Pidilite since July 2012. In the first 3 years, he developed the Rurban business by tripling the distribution reach, stabilizing marketing modules and building a capable team. He, then, moved to the Fevicol Division as a President Sales and Marketing and led successful campaigns for market share gain, strengthened the trade and user loyalty programmes and was instrumental in improving the innovation pipeline.
He has a strong focus to enhance his team’s capability and that has helped him to lead businesses at Pidilite and to accelerate new segments. Prior to Pidilite, Salil worked for 10 years at Asian Paints where he worked in multiple roles focusing on Sales, IT, Marketing and Services. Salil’s stints in Nokia’s Start-up in mobile payments space and Future Group’s Home Retail also sharpened his entrepreneurial skills and widened his exposure across consumer products and services. One of Salil’s proudest achievement was to be awarded India’s Hottest Business Leaders 2013-14 – India’s ‘Top 40 under 40’ by The Economic Times. Salil is a graduate of B. Tech (Mechanical) from Banaras Hindu University and holds a MMS from Mumbai University. His passions include photography and running.
