Shri Bhushan Kumar is serving as a Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and waterways, Government of India. He is spearheading Sagarmala, the flagship program of the ministry, intended to transform the country’s maritime sector through more than 800 projects focused on port modernization, port connectivity, port-led industrialization, coastal shipping, and coastal community development.

 

With over 25 years of experience in the maritime sector, Shri Kumar has expertise in administration, project management, public-private partnerships, contract management, and business development. He has played a key role in developing several mega-port infrastructure projects, including Indian LNG projects.

 

Shri Kumar is the Vice Chairman of the Indian Ports Global Chabahar Free Zone (IPGCFZ) and serves on the boards of organizations such as Indian Port Rail & Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL), Centre of Excellence in Maritime & Shipbuilding (CEMS), and Jawahar Lal Nehru Port. He has served on the Boards of Sagarmala Development Company Limited (SDCL), Vishakhapatnam Port Authority, Mumbai Port Authority, Paradip Port Authority and HPRCL in the past.
