I was commissioned to 201 Engineer Regiment, Corps of Engineers after passing out from Indian Military Academy in 2004. Before joining the armed forces I had acquired my BTech (Civil Engineering) degree (Distinction).

Have rich combat engineering experience in both desert and mountainous terrains and has been deployed in the formidable Siachen glacier for sustenance tasks.

I have been involved with many infrastructure works in Sikkim including construction of difficult roads and bridges in High altitude areas. I commanded a Road Construction Company of Border Roads Organisation in Bhutan tasked to maintain and upgrade Asian highway 42 from Phuentsholing to Thimphu.

I am an alumnus of IIT Delhi where I completed Mtech in Rock Mechanics and Underground Structures (Tunnels). I also have to my credit another masters degree in Tunnelling with specialization in NATM from Technical University Graz, Austria.

I had the privilege to play a pivotal part in construction of Rohtang Tunnel in Himachal where I represented Border roads Organisation. In recognition of my contribution to the project I have been awarded with Sena Medal, Distinguished by the government of India. As in-charge of 42 Border Roads Task Force, I was also Project Director for Sela and Nechiphu Tunnel projects in Arunachal Pradesh. Both Rohtang Tunnel and Sela Tunnel were inaugurated by Prime Minister of India. I was also Project Director of many DPRs of Himalayan Tunnels and one underwater tunnel across Brahmaputra River.

I was recently called in for the Silkiyara Tunnel Rescue Ops in Uttarakhand where 41 workers were trapped in a tunnel collapse. I played a crucial role in the ops wherein I gave critical technical advice and supervised the horizontal boring operation which finally led to the rescue of the tunnel workers. I was awarded Chief of Army Staff’s Commendation for the effort on Army day 2024.

I am a member of H10 committee of Indian Road Congress wherein I contributed in formulating the codes of practice for Hill Roads and Highway Tunnels.  I am also   nominated on the panel of experts for Tunnel related matters by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, India.
