He has a long and varied experience of 28 years in Education, Professional Training (in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East), and Construction Management.

Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) from AV College of Engineering, Sangamner (Maharashtra) and a Master of Engineering (Construction Management) from Government College of Engineering, Pune. He has also attended Senior Management Program in Business Management at IIM, Ahmedabad.

He has completed certification in Advanced Project Management from Liverpool John Moores University in the UK, BIM Essentials from New Castle University in the UK, and Environmental Management and Sustainable Development from University of Wales, Bangor in the UK (Under the British Chevening Scholarship). He possesses Diploma in Materials Management from Indian School of Labour Education, Chennai.

Prior to joining L&T, Mr. Nehru was with Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors of UK and was serving as In Market Lead, Asia Pacific. Earlier he was associated in senior leadership roles with companies like Rohan Builders, HCC Limited, Real Estate Academy for Developers (READ), Pune, NICMAR Pune etc. He also established his own institute in Pune, Nehru Institute of Construction Enterprise (NICE).
