Mr. Abhay Tewari took over as Managing Director and CEO of Star Union Dai-ichi Life
\nInsurance (SUD Life) in 2021, before which he was the Joint President – Corporate & Chief
\nActuary. SUD Life is a tri-party Joint Venture between Bank of India, Union Bank and Dai-ichi
\nLife (Japan). Mr. Tewari has more than 25 years of experience in Financial Services with
\ndominant part being spent in the Life Insurance Industry. He has held senior leadership
\npositions in the Actuary function in SBI Life Insurance as well as Edelweiss Tokio Life
\nInsurance before coming on board with SUD Life.<\/p>\n
At SUD life His pragmatic approach and understanding in combining business realities with
\ntechnical management has resulted in stable growth of the organization and also led to an
\nearly break-even in a competitive market.<\/p>\n
Mr. Tewari is a Fellow member of the Institute of Actuaries of India as well as a Fellow member
\nof the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries, UK. He is also a CFA charter holder from CFA Institute,
\nUSA. Mr Tewari previously served as the Institute of Actuaries of India’s Chairperson of the
