Mr. Vijayarathna Venkatraman brings over 30 years of experience across India’s leading healthcare organisations. He began his career in 1994 as a Management Trainee with Apollo Hospitals, Hyderabad, and later joined Wockhardt Hospital & Heart Institute, Bangalore, in 1997. He went on to become Centre Manager at Wockhardt Hospitals, where he led business development, relationship management, and hospital operations.

In 2009, he took charge of Fortis Hospitals, Mulund, playing a key role in the brand transition from Wockhardt to Fortis, establishing the cancer care facility, and driving strategic growth. He also secured the hospital’s third Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation. He subsequently served as Zonal Director for Fortis Healthcare in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

Mr. Vijayarathna joined Motherhood Hospitals in 2016 as CEO. Under his leadership, the network has expanded from 3 hospitals in Bangalore to 25 hospitals across 12 cities in 9 states, establishing Motherhood as a leading women and child healthcare provider.
