Ritu Mehrotra is the Founder & CEO of Shunya Labs, a deep-tech company building foundational Voice AI for the world. Shunya Labs is on a mission to make technology understand every human voice, developing industry-leading speech recognition, text-to-speech, translation, and contextual AI technologies that aim to serve over 5 billion people globally.

Under her leadership, Shunya Labs has achieved world-record benchmarks in speech recognition, outperforming models from global technology leaders including Google and NVIDIA. The company is among the few Indian AI companies building foundational models for global markets, supporting over 220 languages and dialects.

Prior to Shunya Labs, Ritu led Asia for Booking.com, managing a multi-billion-dollar business across 28 countries. Before that, she played a key role in scaling several businesses at Zomato, including reservations, loyalty, and delivery. She also founded and successfully exited an organic food delivery startup earlier in her career.

Having lived and worked across India, Singapore, the United States, Canada, and Switzerland, Ritu brings a global perspective to building products, teams, and businesses. She is passionate about creating technology that breaks language barriers and proving that world-changing AI can be built in India for the world. Outside work, Ritu enjoys reading, outdoor sports, and exploring the intersection of technology, human behaviour, and innovation.
