Raman Aggarwal is the Chief Executive Officer (& a Promoter) of Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC) \u2013 A Self Regulatory Organization (SRO) of Non-Banking Finance Companies (NBFCs) in India. He is currently Area Head \u2013 NBFCs at Council for International Economic Understanding (CIEU) and has been a Consultant to the World Bank. He is Advisor \/ Consultant to some of the leading NBFCs & Fintechs and is also an Independent Director on the board of Pasialo Digital Ltd., a leading NBFC in North India engaged in financing MSMEs. He has more than 33 years of working experience in the NBFC sector.<\/p>\n
He has been actively representing the NBFC sector, being a member of Advisory Groups to Ministry of Finance, RBI, SIDBI, Core Group setup by Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and Special Task Force at FICCI.. He is the Chairman, Working Group on NBFCs at Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR). He is a Fellow Member of Institute of Directors, New Delhi and a Fellow Member cum Approved Valuer (Category: Immovable Property) by The Indian Institution of Valuers.<\/p>\n
He was awarded the \u201cMan of Excellence\u201d Award by Indian Achievers\u2019 Forum in 2021, \u201cBest NBFC Exemplary Leader\u201d Award at the ET NOW BFSI Awards and \u201c100 Top Most Influential BFSI Leaders\u201d award at the World BFSI Congress in 2018 & 2019. He has addressed major events and seminars at the National and International level. He has been an invitee to the Pre-budget discussion of the Finance Minister with representatives from banking and financial institutions.<\/p>\n
He is a member of the Academic Advisory Board (Area-Finance) at IMT, Ghaziabad. He is a Guest Faculty at Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Tiruchirappalli, IIM Nagpur, Institute of Chartered Accountants, India (ICAI) and International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi.<\/p>\n
Raman is Master\u2019s in Urban Planning from School of Planning &Architecture, New Delhi and Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala.
