Akhilesh Srivastava is a globally respected leader in intelligent transportation systems, digital governance, and road safety transformation, with a distinguished career spanning policy formulation, large-scale execution, and international thought leadership. He has been instrumental in India’s transition from conventional road management to data-driven, technology-enabled mobility systems.

With key leadership roles at NHAI, as CEO of the National Highways Infra Trust (NHIT) and COO of India Highway Management Company Limited (IHMCL), he played a pivotal role in implementing FASTag—the world’s largest electronic toll collection system, along with establishing the AI-powered NHAI Data Lake, mainstreaming Industry 4.0 technologies, and pioneering InvIT-based highway financing, mobilising over
₹50,000 crore. He has also contributed to citizen-centric digital governance initiatives for the Government of Uttarakhand, enhancing transparency, accessibility, and service delivery.

Currently serving as President of the ITS India Forum and the International Road Federation (IRF) India Chapter, he is at the forefront of shaping national and global mobility strategies. His work has driven the shift from reactive enforcement to intelligence-led road safety systems, integrating AI analytics, ADAS, dashcams, Driver Monitoring Systems (DMS), and predictive traffic management across the transport ecosystem.
