Sailesh Prasad heads the Sustainable Enterprise and Export Development Group, which supports Indian enterprises with latent potential for exports and can be scaled up using innovative technology, product or process, through a mix of debt, equity and technical assistance. Prior to this, he was a part of the Credit Appraisal Group and headed the Mumbai Regional Office of the Bank.
Mr. Prasad, in his over 22 years stint with the Bank, has rich experience in the field of business development, client relationship management, credit underwriting & administration, project finance, overseas investment finance, trade finance, structured finance, SME-agri financing, acquisition financing, product development and advisory services.
He has also served in the Bank’s Washington DC and Johannesburg representative offices. He has represented the Bank in multilateral meetings on ‘International Working Group on Exports Credit’ and has been part of consulting assignment on ‘Institutional Capacity Building for Export Credit and Insurance to Enhance Trade Competitiveness in Rwanda’.
Mr. Prasad holds a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Sciences from Banaras Hindu University and a master’s degree in Business Economics from Delhi University. He is also is a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers. In addition to his passion for reading on contemprory topics, he is a sports enthusiast and a long-distance runner.
