ET EDGE Hosts “The Architecture and Design (A&D) Summit”

The ET-Edge Architecture and Design Summit 2014,washeld in Jaipur on Friday, 5th September witnessed participation from eminent names from the sector ranging frominterior fit-out manufacturers, regional architects, interior designers, architecture associations to academicians. 

Recognizing the significance of the architectural practice in India, the summit aimed to bring together key stakeholders to deliberate on the current challenges through Key-Note presentation, multiple focused panel discussions. With the theme of “TRADITION AND MODERNITY IN CONTEMPORARY PRACTICE”, the conference aimed to focus on hosting top level architects and design professional to deliberate the much needed transition required by the upcoming metro cities to create a unique identity and transform into a “Smart City” capable of sustaining the brisk population growth.

The summit was initiated with a welcome address by Sunita Quadros, Business Head, Times Conferences Ltd.Further Abhishek Somany, Joint Managing Director, Somany Ceramics addressed the seminar followed by Dikshu Kukreja,Proprietor, C P Kukreja Architectswho spoke on Smart Architecture – Building Blocks to a Smart City.Other opinion leaders like Praveen Jain (Chief Town Planner, Town planning Department – Govt of Rajasthan), Ajay Madan (Director Sales, South Asia,Zumtobel), Anoop Bartaria (Chairman, Sincere House Architects & Engineering Ltd.), Sharad Maithel (Architect, Maithel & Associates Architects Pvt Ltd.),Amit Ghelot (Architect, ASA Designs) further discussed the topic.

The Architecture & Design Summit 2014 focused mainly on ‘’Conceptualizing the Unique Global Cities of India – The Role of the Local Government& Regional Stake Holders with Developing Architectural Concepts and New Urban Identity.’’
