The Iconic Brands Summit
If you know your lexicon, then chances are that you know where ‘Icons’ originated from. Icons’ transcendental journey began in the Greek civilisation from the word “eikenai,” which means “to appear or to be like,” and originally meant a figure, representation, or portrait. The word traversed through time to join the English language in the 1600s keeping most of its original meaning to finally being used to denote a higher status symbol than popularity or cognisance in modern day society.
In simple terms, Icons are symbols, images or people that can evoke varied intense emotions from people even if in disagreement.
