Captain Lovekesh Thakur is a serving Indian Naval Officer Commissioned into the Executive Branch in Jan 1994. He is a Specialist in Navigation, Operations and Fighter Control, having served in various afloat and ashore appointments during his career.
Before joining UIDAI, he was the Naval Officer-in-Charge of Lakshadweep where he commissioned a new unit INS Jatayu in Mar 24 and laid the foundation for building a Naval harbour at Androth. He has served at the Tri-service HQ as Director Long Term Force Structure looking after Force structure, budgetary planning and Acquisition policy. He was also part of the Defence Acquisition Council under the chairmanship of Defence Minister. He has extensive experience in Capital Acquisition procedure and policy having participated in the drafting of the MAKE II and Strategic Partnership model for DPP. He has been part of the Faculty at Naval Academy and his alma-mater the Navigation and Direction school, where he set up the Advanced Fighter Control Simulator at Kochi. He was Commander Work up of Warship Workup Team (West), responsible for training and operational integration of ships and submarines into the fleet post their extended refits.
He joined UIDAI RO Mumbai from June 2024 and has been instrumental in advancing the Aadhaar initiative within his region, focusing on enhancing digital identity and improving service delivery.
In addition to Naval qualifications, he holds a regular MBA (Finance) degree from NIFM and an Executive Certificate in Project Management from XLRI, Jamshedpur.
