Ashish Desai is part of Aditya Birla Group’s Leadership team of Textiles Business; his key accountability is to create competitive differentiators for both the India and International Businesses spread across 5 countries using cutting edge digital technologies. He handles the roles of a Chief Information Officer of Chemical business and renewable energy business of Aditya Birla Group. Ashish has been involved in aligning technologies and processes to enhance business growth, improve operational efficiency and sustainability and profitability. More recently, he was involved in digital projects around Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence (AI/ML), Business Analytics, IoT Pilots and brand.com for better customer experience. Ashish is associated with Aditya Birla Group since last 20+ years where in he has played different roles such as CIO for Chemical business for 7 years, setting up Centre of Excellence for SAP to creating new LoB in Minacs. He has been part of various transformation initiatives in Mining, Trading, P&F, Birla Carbon, Vikram Ispat and Cement.
Prior to ABG, Ashish was associated with Rallis India Limited, wherein he was responsible to drive technology led initiatives in manufacturing and supply chain function of 9 manufacturing sites. In 1999 he was associated with a launch of a plant digitally remotely.
Ashish works closely with all business leaders across the organisations in evangelizing the disruptive potential of digital and shaping strategic directions.
Ashish is particularly passionate about driving technology solutions from Experience Design, Supply Chain & Logistics to Manufacturing. He is currenting driving data and Insight Driven Organization journey for textiles and renewable energy business. He has initiated program for Digital Experiences across customer touchpoints.
Earlier in his career, Ashish dealt with IT Platforms covering ERPs, CRMs, SCM, Logistic control tower, manufacturing cockpit, E-commerce, Analytics, Networking and communications, Security systems etc. from SAP, Oracle, CISCO, HPE, Microsoft, AWS, Google, Oracle, Adobe and other Niche players / Start-ups.
