Dr. Madhu Raikwar is a distinguished public health leader with over 37 years of experience in health systems governance, policy formulation, and data-driven decision-making. Currently serving as Senior Chief Medical Officer in the Antimicrobial Resistance Division at the National Centre for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, she is at the forefront of India’s efforts to combat antimicrobial resistance through national surveillance and stakeholder engagement.
Previously, Dr. Raikwar held pivotal roles as Deputy Director General and Director of the Central Bureau of Health Intelligence, where she led initiatives such as the National Health Resource Repository and the transition to ICD-11 coding systems—both landmark contributions to India’s health data ecosystem. Her work has significantly advanced evidence-based policymaking and strengthened national programs on immunization, maternal and child health, and primary healthcare.
A passionate advocate for equitable and accountable health systems, Dr. Raikwar has collaborated with global organizations like WHO, CDC, Gates Foundation, and NITI Aayog and has represented India at multiple international health forums.
