Neelkant (Neel) Rawal is a Managing Director at Wells Fargo and leads the Strategy, Digital & Innovation (SDI) organization in India & Philippines.

In his current role as Head of SDI, he supervises the digital practice which designs-builds-tests digital products and capabilities for all the global lines of business. The SDI group positions Wells Fargo for the digital future by delivering innovative and engaging digital products and services. Neel is also a part of the India & Philippines Leadership Team.

Neel is a thought leader and digital strategist specializing in sculpting digital capabilities, establishing a technology foundation, and fostering new ways of working. He previously worked at HSBC where he oversaw digital platforms and capabilities across the retail and wealth business in Singapore. He charted the roll out of the digital foundation and modular capabilities which influenced consumer banking behaviors. He spearheaded the introduction of new mobile apps and online banking experiences and was a project steering committee member for industry initiatives led by the Association of Banks in Singapore.

Prior to banking, he handled different roles in industries such as insurance and mobile telecommunications, and in start-ups. A lifelong learner, Neel holds a BE in Computers from the University of Mumbai and an MBA in Finance from the Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune. He has completed Executive Education programs from Harvard Business School in Driving Digital Strategy and Competing in the Age of AI, and from IIM Ahmedabad in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

Based in Bengaluru, Neel is a regular speaker at forums showcasing digital products, platforms and customer experience. He is a member of innovation roundtables in financial services and has authored articles on digital strategy and transformation. He has an insatiable curiosity for how digital is disintermediating industries and redesigning products.
