Dr. Pushplata Singh earned her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Sciences with a specialization in Genetics from the University of Delhi in 2006. She is currently the Director of the Centre for Nano Research and Agricultural Biotechnology areas in Sustainable Agriculture Program at The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI). With more than 23 years of experience in the biotechnology sector, her work covers genome-wide association studies, genome analysis, biofertilizer formulation development, nano-fertilizers, nano pesticides, and the application of nanomaterials in pharmaceuticals and environmental solutions. She is also globally recognized for her contributions to nanoscale innovations, particularly in nano-fertilizers, nano-pesticides, and technologies aimed at reducing agricultural GHG emissions. Her contribution to the State-Air Quality-improvement programmes through development of sustainable agricultural practices and packages is appreciated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh and the World Bank. Her research has contributed to the commercialization of multiple agri-input products in India and abroad, supporting sustainability in agriculture. She also serves on advisory bodies such as the BIS Metallurgical Engineering Department’s Nanotechnologies Sectional Committee (MTD 33), BioNanoNet (BNN), and the International Initiative for Safe and Sustainable Nanotechnology (INISS).
