
Dr Ankit Kumar

Dr. Ankit Kumar is a faculty member in the Economics group at IIM Calcutta. He holds a doctorate in economics from the Indian Institute of Management Raipur. He has been a visiting student at the Paris School of Economics and the University of Oxford, UK, where he was part of a cohort exploring the application of machine learning in Macro-Finance. His research interests focus on Macroeconomics and Macro-Finance, including assessing the impact of credit regulation on the banking industry, ESG analytics, and evaluating the effects of climate change and AI adoption on businesses and the economy. He has designed and delivered learning and development programs for mid-career and senior executives in various renowned firms, such as Deloitte and the I-Metro organisation. He has authored an impact assessment report titled “Study on Fiscal Incentive Scheme” for the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Additionally, he conducted a research project for the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Government of India. In 2022, he was awarded a prestigious research scholarship by the Reserve Bank of India.
