Introducing The Times Now Global Sustainability Alliance
Food Systems Summit 2025

Food lies at the center of human existence, shaping not only our survival but also the cultural norms and social structures that define our lives. The interconnected web of activities involved in producing, processing, distributing, and consuming food forms the essence of food systems. These systems are integral to addressing some of the most pressing global challenges, including food security, climate change, biodiversity loss, and social inequities.

As the global population continues to grow, the resilience and sustainability of food systems are critical. They must meet the increasing demand for nutritious food while safeguarding environmental resources and ensuring equitable access for all. Achieving this balance necessitates a systemic approach that addresses key constraints such as desirability, affordability, accessibility, and availability of sustainable healthy diets. Moving forward, embracing innovative and inclusive strategies will not only mitigate current challenges but also unlock opportunities for creating a food-secure and sustainable future.

The Times Now Food systems summit 2025 serves as a dynamic platform to bring together thought leaders to explore strategies for building sustainable, equitable, and resilient food systems that can address the global challenges while fostering innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity. This summit aims to convene a diverse array of global leaders, policymakers, innovators, and stakeholders from across the food value chain to address the critical challenges and opportunities shaping a sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food ecosystem.

With a strong focus on actionable solutions, the event will spark discussions and collaborations to drive innovation, enhance food security, and achieve sustainability goals aligned with global benchmarks, including the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Focusing on integrative issues related to food system sustainability and resilience, the summit offers a unique opportunity for key players like supply chain heads, food specialists, health experts, food investors, innovators, NGO’s and more—to join forces with farmers, indigenous communities, youth organizations, consumer groups, environmental activists, and other stakeholders. Together, they will work towards creating tangible, positive transformations in the world’s food systems.

Key Trends in
Food Systems 2025

As part of the key trends shaping the food ecosystem, we aim to address some of the most pressing challenges across critical segments such as food processing and packaging, sustainable food and agriculture, supply chain optimization, and more.

Through a series of insightful sessions and interactive activations, we will focus on pivotal aspects of the food value chain. This includes exploring innovations across segments, discussing the latest advancements, and delving into policy and governance frameworks that drive the industry forward. We look forward to engaging with thought leaders and stakeholders to foster meaningful conversations and actionable outcomes.

Sustainable agriculture lies at the heart of addressing food security and environmental conservation, combining innovation and opportunity. This session delves into regenerative farming practices that restore soil health and biodiversity, advancements in organic fertilizers and bio-rational products, and precision agriculture techniques like drones and advanced crop protection. It also explores hydroponic systems, sustainable ingredient sourcing, and resilient seed technologies. Designed to inspire action, this session empowers industry leaders, solution providers, and startups to align with the future of agriculture and showcase leadership in building a sustainable global food system.

This session focuses on building resilient food distribution and supply chains by tackling challenges such as outdated logistics infrastructure, inefficient last-mile connectivity, and food wastage. Participants will explore smart warehouse technologies, blockchain, AI, RFID tools, and integrated cold chain solutions. The discussion also emphasizes the role of mega food parks, farmer producer organizations, and digital platforms in improving connectivity and streamlining operations. Designed for retailers, distributors, and supply chain innovators, this session offers strategies to create efficient, sustainable supply chains and drive industry growth.

This segment highlights emerging opportunities in India’s dynamic food processing and packaging sector, addressing challenges such as infrastructure gaps, regulatory complexities, and the transition to advanced processing methods. It explores innovations like eco-friendly, paper-based, and edible packaging, while aligning with circular economy goals. By examining key government initiatives like the PM Kisan Sampada Yojana and Production-Linked Incentive schemes, stakeholders will uncover strategies to drive growth, formalize food processing systems, and adopt sustainable packaging solutions to meet evolving consumer demands.

Food safety in India has evolved with innovations like antimicrobial packaging, food protection proteins, and cell-culture antimicrobial solutions, ensuring enhanced protection against contamination. This session explores Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and the role of audits and consulting in meeting regulatory standards. By adopting cutting-edge technologies and best practices, stakeholders can ensure compliance, enhance food protection, and safeguard public health, driving a more secure and reliable food ecosystem.
