Mr. Haresh Karamchandani, a trailblazer in India’s food processing sector, is the visionary founder of HyFun Foods. He began his entrepreneurial journey in 1999 by joining the family business – the family has been into potato and onion trading since 1960 in Mehsana, Gujarat. A member of the 3rd generation,
Mr. Karamchandani had a front row seat to the challenges within the agricultural sector, especially the hardships faced by the farmers. He saw processing of fresh produce as a solution to their problems and identified that value addition to fresh produce through secondary processing is a game changing opportunity. This was a natural extension to the family’s traditional business.
In 2010, Mr. Karamchandani conceptualized HyFun Foods and laid its foundation in 2015 by setting up the company’s first manufacturing facility for frozen potato products where production commenced in the same year. In a short span, HyFun’s revenue grew from ₹50 Crores in the 1st year to over ₹1000 Crores in the 8th year. HyFun Foods has revolutionized the frozen foods industry by pioneering the export of frozen French fries and establishing a strong presence in the international markets – HyFun exports to more than 40 countries today.
Under Mr. Karamchandani’s leadership, HyFun Foods has become the largest manufacturer of frozen potato products and the largest procurer of processing variety of potato in the country. His vision is to expand beyond potato and revolutionize the fresh produce linked food industry. Mr. Haresh Karamchandani brings decades of expertise, sharp business acumen, and a deep understanding of what it takes to drive performance and sustain success.
His journey has been recognized by prestigious business publications like Forbes, and he was recently honoured as the Times Ascent CEO of the Year. Under his leadership, HyFun Foods has earned numerous accolades, across supply chain transformation, HR excellence, brand leadership, etc.
