Introduction

As a part of Global Sustainability Alliance – Sustainable Organizations 4th edition, an initiative of ET Edge (with Ipsos as Research Partner), we plan to recognize the innovative practices that top businesses are bringing in towards achieving the objective of climate change & green practices for the future. Through this initiative, we aspire to assist organizations unearth the risks, leverage the opportunities, enable them to benchmark their performance, and be rewarded for harnessing impactful activities for the planet.

Evaluation & Methodology

1. Research Methodology:

  • Identification: A list of 500+ companies will be identified.
    Research Partner will curate a list of 300 companies based on their sectors and profitability (companies with low PAT filtered out).

  • Scope of Companies: Companies will be identified based on their profitability and their extent of expenditures for ESG initiatives.

  • Source: Data for each company shall be taken through reliable secondary sources, Annual Report, ESG & Sustainability Reports, Financial Returns, Investor Presentations, companies’ official website, moneycontrol.com, etc. shall be referred.

  • Parameters: Companies shall be assessed based on comprehensive set of Revenue, Profitability, ESG Spends, Areas of ESG spend, ESG vision, Impact created by geography & number of employee.

2. Scoring Methodology for Organization:

  • Weightage: Different parameters shall be allotted for different weightage. This is based on a judgment to distribute the level of importance to a particular scoring point. The dimension level weight denotes the weightage of a certain parameter.

  • Quantitative Data: Data points measuring revenue, profitability, ESG spends, Number of lives impacted and other quantitative data shall be earmarked per parameter.

  • Qualitative Data: Data points measuring qualitative aspects like ESG vision, activities, geographical impact etc.

  • The shortlisted companies will be intimated and invited to be felicitated at the Event.

  • The success stories of companies will also be featured in the 4th edition of Sustainable Organisations Coffee Table Book 2025.

This nomination process is designed to identify and celebrate companies that demonstrate a strong, measurable commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices and sustainability. The 4th edition of the Sustainable Organisations Coffee Table Book 2025 will spotlight India’s most forward-thinking sustainability leaders, honouring them as ‘Champions of Green Business Practices’. Through this initiative, we aim to showcase organizations that are embedding ESG into their core strategies and delivering tangible, purpose-driven impact.

Any firm registered under the laws of India and have business operations in India can apply for the nomination in the Award, either directly or through an Agency.

Winners are selected based on a comprehensive evaluation of submitted forms, considering the criteria outlined in the evaluation methodology. The evaluation committee assesses the quality, impact, and sustainability of each company’s initiatives.
