Sunder Rajan Raman began as a clerk at State Bank of India at 19, then joined Bank of India as an officer, working across India and abroad, including during the 2007–2008 financial crisis in New York. Returning to India, he became the Executive Director at Union Bank of India and later Chairman & Managing Director of Canara Bank. He concluded his career as Whole Time Member at SEBI, where he delivered landmark rulings and tackled complex fraudulent schemes.
