Parthaa Bosu

Innovation and Future Strategies Expert
Domain and Functional Advisory Group

Parthaa Bosu’s career at the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) was instrumental in developing India’s current computerized vehicle emission check system. This system has had a lasting impact, helping to reduce air pollution from vehicles on the road.

In 2015, Parthaa played a key role in establishing the Green Freight India Working Group, a pioneering group in collaboration with the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MoHI) and NITI Aayog. This group initiated crucial discussions on improving the efficiency and environmental friendliness of India’s road freight transport sector. Their primary focus was on enhancing freight vehicle efficiency, leading to fuel savings and reduced emissions.

Parthaa’s leadership extends to air quality management. While working with the Environmental Defense Fund (EDF), he led the development of a hyperlocal air quality management system. This innovative system equips cities with advanced tools to quickly track and address local air pollution issues more effectively. His commitment to sustainable energy solutions is evident in his establishment of the IDEEA consortium. Partnering with the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Jadavpur University, Kolkata, this consortium developed India’s first open-source energy transition model. This valuable tool helps with planning a sustainable energy future for the nation.

Parthaa Bosu’s focus on efficiency extends beyond air quality. A decade back, he collaborated with the Shakti Foundation to launch FreightBazaar, India’s first freight-hailing service. This online platform connects truck users and suppliers, promoting reliability and transparency to improve efficiency in the road transportation industry.

Parthaa currently heads the Domain and Functional Advisory Group (DFAG), a consulting firm focused on policy development, government affairs, and sustainability initiatives.  He also serves as an advisor to Asian Transport Outlook (ATO) and UNESCAP on clean transportation and logistics solutions, advocating for sustainable practices throughout South Asia.

Mr Bosu also happens to be a member Technical Committee, INDAir, MoEF, CPCB, NEERI and DST. He is also the member of Executive Committee Member, Institute of Urban Transport, under the MoUD. Parthaa has published numerous technical papers in both internal and domestic journals.
