Ben Verschaeren joined Sophos in 2015 as a Sales Engineer and has since become a Global Solutions Engineer. Based in Melbourne, he supports high value and strategic initiatives throughout Asia Pacific and Japan. Ben is responsible for researching the threat landscape and educating the Sophos team, customers and partners on the latest threats. This includes building demonstration and training tools, focusing on real world exploits and malware.
Ben has received multiple accolades for his work at Sophos. Most recently, he was awarded ANZ Sales Engineer FY 2017. Part of this achievement is his ability to talk to a number of different audiences including those with a technical and non-technical background.
Ben has also been tasked with presenting at numerous events such as Sophos Discover (partner conference) and conferences on the evolving threat landscape and next generation firewall technology. He recently represented Sophos at DEF CON and BlackHat USA 2017.
Ben has more than 15 years of experience within the IT industry, with experience in both sales and engineering. He previously worked for JB Hi-Fi Commercial and Thiess.
