Dr. Priyadarshini Karve (Ph.D. Physics from University of Pune, 1998) works on rural cooking energy solutions, decentralised organic waste to fuel technologies, and strategies for low carbon, sustainable urbanisation. She developed the Samuchit Carbon Footprint Calculator for Urban Indians, and conducts workshops and teaches courses focused on climate change literacy, green skilling, and sustainability. She is the Founder Director of Samuchit Enviro Tech and a Co-Founder of OrjaBox LLP. She is currently the National Convener of Indian Network on Ethics and Climate Change (INECC) and CEO of Clean Energy Access Network (CLEAN). Her work has been honoured by national and international awards and recognitions. In 2023, she was featured in ‘Vigyan Vidushi’, a book on 75 Indian women science luminaries, published by Vigyan Prasar for ‘Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav (75^th anniversary of India’s Independence)’.
