Ambi M G Parameswaran is a marketing- branding-advertising veteran with over four decades of experience. He is now an independent brand coach and founder Brand-Building.com, a brand advisory. Ambi played a vital role in the transformation of FCB Ulka Advertising into a top five marketing communication group. He served the agency for over 25 years and was the ED & CEO from 2003 – 2013. He has worked on iconic brands and companies such as Tata Motors, Wipro, Zee, TCS, Thermax, GSK, Tropicana, Amul, Nirma, LIC, ICICI Bank, Santoor, Sundrop, Abbott, ITC, Amul, Kansai Nerolac etc.. He has served as the President of The Ad Club Mumbai and the Advertising Agencies Association of India. He has delivered a 100+ keynote talks at industry events and more than five TEDx talks.

Ambi turned an independent brand coach / consultant in 2016 and over the last ten years has worked on projects and assignments with Aditya Birla Group, Pepsico, TI Cycles, Wipro Consumer Care, Abbott, Kansai Nerolac, Tata Group, Sun Pharma, DDecor to name a few.

Ambi is a best-selling author of 12 books and his books cover a range of topics including advertising, branding, consumer behaviour, leadership and religiosity. His book ‘Nawabs Nudes Noodles – India Through 50 Years of Advertising’ was a Crossword Popular Book Awards 2017 finalist. His book, ‘Spring-Bouncing Back From Rejection’ was a finalist at Tata Lit Live Business Book of The Year Award 2021. His latest book, launched in June 2025, ‘Marketing Mixology’, looks at four critical skills for marketing success.

Ambi has two podcasts to his credit: ‘Sponge Leadership Lessons’ (with Amit Doshi) and ‘The Last Brand Standing’ (with Anupam Gupta).

Ambi’s columns appear regularly in leading business publications such as Business Standard and Economic Times; he serves as an Adjunct Professor of Marketing at SPJIMR Mumbai and as a guest faculty at IIMA / IIMC / MICA etc. He has served on the Board of Governors of IIM Calcutta from 2007-17 and as an Independent Director on corporate boards. He is a Distinguished Alumnus Awardee from both IIT Madras and IIM Calcutta. He has a PhD from Mumbai University, has done his AMP from Harvard Business School and CEO Coaching Certification from Coaching Foundation of India.
