A social and behavioural scientist by training, Prof. rohan has built a career exploring the dynamic relationship between business and society- how businesses impact communities, and how externalities and risks can be mitigated and converted into opportunities. His work spans participatory development planning with vulnerable communities to high-level consulting with corporate leaders.
Prof. rohan has made notable contributions to India’s CSR and sustainability ecosystem, including co-developing the Assessment and Empanelment Standards for Development Institutions in India (AESDII) at TISS. He continues to shape policy and standards as a member of several national committees and taskforces, and currently serves on the BIS National ESG Standards Drafting Committee as the Social Expert, as well as India’s representative to the ISO Technical Committee on SDG Management.
For over a decade, Prof. rohan has built ‘purpose driven’ institutions, both within public institutions and private sector impact consulting, by founding and leading high performance, inter-disciplinary and high energy teams. Prof. rohan is passionate about Purpose, curious about Compassionate Capitalism, an advocate of Sustainability, an avid supporter of interventions pertaining to neglected thematics, geographies and peoples, and a practitioner of interdisciplinarity, diversity and integration. He is an optimist about the transformative power of business to create a sustainable future.
